Question re: Data Miner

I use a program called "AD AWARE" to search for and remove spy ware. A lot
of what I remove refers to the following which is located in the registry:

Vendor:Windows
Category:Data Miner
Object Type:RegData
Size:-
Location:Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Settings\
Last Activity:9-15-2003
Risk LevelLow
Comment:MediaPlayer Unique ID
Description:No Detail Information Available.

What benefits do I derive by allowing this program to exist? If I remove
this from the registry will I lose any useful function of Media Player?

The "Unique ID" which Ad-Aware is referring to may be related with:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/v8/privacy.aspx
[Personally Identifiable Information Does Windows Media Player for Windows
XP Gather]

Removing the entry does not harm WMP functionality.
