Question re ATI all in wonder 128

Hi
I would like to move up to a newer PC but would like to keep my current AGP
ATI All In Wonder 128 video card.
The machine I am looking at is a Gateway with HT, 800fsb etc and graphics
is 'GMA intregrated with open PCI'
I like my video card because of it's tv tuner and video capture ability.

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of using my old ATI card?

Thanks
Wayne Jones

I found out my answer. Open PCI implies there is no agp slot. So I can't
install my video card

There's little benefit to buying a system with integrated
video then having to abandon the video card you want to use.
On the other hand, if the video card is the older AIW 128,
it won't even run in a modern 1.5V AGP slot, while the
one-generation newer AIW 128 Pro can be used in newer AGP
slot.

You can either buy a new tuner/capture card, or buy a system
that has AGP slot, IF your AIW is the 128 PRO. ATI's
website should help determine whether it's the Pro or
non-pro version.

It most likely won't work. It is most likely a 5volt card that won't work in
a modern AGP slot.

Buy a new video card and get a SEPARATE tuner card. You've just learned why
putting both on the same card is a silly idea.
