Question on Irfanview

How can I get my wheel mouse to go back and forth in a directory, forword is
ok, but can't go back to just viewed photo?
 
Double-click the photo until it fills your screen. That makes a
slideshow.Left-click for previous photo, right-click for next photo.

Options > Properties > Misc 1 and checkmark this option:

"Jump always to next image if Page Up/Down key (or mouse wheel) pressed"

I am using v3.85.
