I have created a database that many people will have access too. However,
there are only a select group of people who should have "write" access and a
larger group of people who should have "read only" access. How can this be
done. Thanks

Hi,

Have you tried to create user groups for the directory where the
file/database is located with the needed access rights?
The Network Admin should be able to help.

Do you mean you have created a MS Excel spreadsheet or an MS Access
database???

There are three approaches I can think of for Access the database. In
order of increasing difficulty to set up and order of control and security.

Password protection
Access rights to the folder
User level security.
