Question on Excel AutoFill command

Craig

Hi,

When I have say a title called Qtr1 in a cell and want to AUTOFILL it to the
right, I know to use the autofill handle...but it seems theres no good quick
one-two stroke shortcut key that goes with it...this has been puzzling to me
for a while now...Control R (fill right does not work in this case) Is there
one?

Thank you for any insight.

There are many more Excel commands than the number of keyboard shortcuts
available could ever support. Does that clarify things for you?<g>.

Fortunately Excel supports macros that lets users make their own shortcuts.
Here's an example. Copy both of these to a module and run the first one.
Then try out Ctrl-Shift-f in the worksheet for filling a series. If you
like this and want to make it always available copy both to your
Personal.xls and call the first sub from your Personal's Sub Auto_Open or
Sub Workbook_Open, whichever it has.

Sub KeyTrapFillSeries()
Application.OnKey "^+f", "FillSeries"
End Sub

Sub FillSeries()
ActiveWindow.RangeSelection.DataSeries Type:=xlAutoFill
End Sub
