question on DNS

Hello,
Hoping someone could help me on a dns issue. I have a
server(appserver) which is on a domain and used for one application.
It is not setup for dns. However from another work computer if I run
an nslookup query, the appserver's IP address is shown. I'm wondering
how this can happen because I have not setup appserver for dns. Can
someone help on this.

Post a sample DNS query using nslookup -d2
