Question about Windows Installer Clean Up utility

I'd like to get rid of an annoying "Preparing to install... message that I
get before I open Word or Outlook 2003. I haven't found any specific
information anywhere, but it sounds like running this utility might help.
It's not clear, however, whether I *must* reinstall Office afterward or if
the reinstallation is optional. Any suggestions about this mess would be
appreciated.

You need to reinstall your program in the same folder where you originally
installed it after running the utility.

Try running a Repair from the install CD first. If that doesn't work then move on to
using the Installer Cleanup.
