Question about startup programs

Hi, I'd like to see if anyone out there knows about how
Windows starts programs at Log On time. Somehow, after I
updated my ATI video drivers, each user that logs on gets
an Explorer-like window popped up after they log on and
it is pointed to the ATI utility directory. It is very
annoying and I cannot seem to get rid of it. I have
Windows XP Pro 5.1.2600 SP1. I have several user
accounts set up - one for me and one each for my wife and
two kids. I have checked all of the Startup folders (All
Users and each account as well) under "Documents and
Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" and it is
not listed there. If I go to System Info under System
Tools and look at Startup Programs under the Software
Environment I see "AtiPTA" as the Program, "c:\program
files\ati technologies\ati control panel\atiptaxx.exe" as
the Command, "All Users" as the User Name,
and "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
as the Location. I tried searching with Explorer to find
that location and it does not appear to exist. I also
tried searching for any file that contained the
text "atiptaxx" but that was only found in some ATI "INF"
files.

I'd like to delete this program from my startup deck -
does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Mitch

Click START|RUN, and type "msconfig" (no quotes)
<enter>
Click the Start Up tab.
If the listed, uncheck its box.
After rebooting, check the box that appears at start up, and you won't see
it again.
