I'm using Access 2000, and I was playing around with the options.

Under the 'General' tab of the Options dialog box, there is a drop-down menu
called "New database sort order".

I can't figure out what it's supposed to do. Anyone know?

What it does is accomodate the fact that different languages may have
different rules for how letters (and words) are sorted. For example, French
uses é and è in addition to e. Does one get sorted before the other, or do
all 3 get treated as e?

BTW, did you try hitting F1 while you had the field selected?

That makes sense.

As for F1, I never think about. Suppose I should, thanks.
