question about media player programming

Is there a way to programmatically display a video and a still graphic in mp?

Think a background movie with gentle waves with a "thoughts" text in the foreground.

Rut,

I don't know if this is possible. If anything, you would have to render
the whole thing as a video in real time. I don't think that media player
really has any compositioning ability (which is what you are looking for).
