Hi, My situation is that:

Domain : test.com , sub.test.com (domain and subdomain)

I have two DC for test.com, one is win2003 (holder of all
FSMO roles) and one is win2K, both of them are set as
global catelog server. The DC for sub.test.com is win2k
(also hold all FSMO role for domain sub.test.com) and
also set as catelog server.

However, on sub.test.com, it always have 'unable to
establish connection with global catelog" log on even
viewer.

I want to know why ? is that my setting is wrong ?

The first thing to check for such problems is the DNS server
and that the DC/GCs are all set to use ONLY the internal,
dynamic DNS server (set.)

Perhaps you have another issue --since presumably you are
authenticating and replicating for other purposes....

Run DCDiag.exe on every DC, capture the output to a file,
search for WARN, ERROR, and FAIL; fix or report those
problems.

Checking the NIC settings first (or aftwards) might be profitable.
