Question about CDROM 942E/AKO

B

I just installed a MB M266A with AMIBIOS v1.9, SDRAM 128M, Celeron 2.4, (2)
HDD, Floppy Drive, and Aopen 942E/AKO CDROM.

I am unable to boot from the CDROM although the BIOS detects the CDROM on
IDE 2 as Master. During boot, the system reports "Searching for bootable CD"
gives up and then searches from next boot device.

I have checked/changed drive cable, re-seated connectors, and re-seated
jumper. The CDROM works on another system. I do not know what else to
check. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Additional info: I swapped the AO CDROM with another CDROM. No change. Then
moved cable to IDE 1. No change. System finds CDROM at boot but can not read
CDs.

Thanks again
