Question about auto-routing of news group/other emails

I have Outlook 2003 on my pc at work and can not figure out how to have
emails from designated mail groups (or individuals) automatically route to a
folder. I set up a rule for this, but the emails only filter over to the
designated folder
when I run the rule manually. I want this to happen automatically without
manual intervention. Does anyone know how to do this??
 
Have you got this rule ticked in Rules and Alerts dialogue box. If not, tick
the box for this rule and see if that works.
