query on framework and compactframework

hi..
i need to develope an application using .net for a pocket pc.
i came across an article saying that should use compactframework when developing application for smart devices. so what is the difference between this 2 framework??? is there any difference if i use framework instead of compactframe work to develop my application??

You need to use the Compact Framework to develop for a Pocket PC. You cannot
use the Desktop Framework. You can find an API comparison, in chm format, at
