Query building Copy and Paste not working

Since going to 2003, I cannot seem to be able to paste into the Expression
Builder or the Zoom window. The only way seems to be to do it in the query
criteria line where you only get to see about 10 characters.

What are you trying to paste (I can copy and paste into Zoom or Expression
Builder) AND on the criteria line just expand the view by double-clicking on
the divider line.

Hi Gina Whipp
I just looked and tried. I cannot copy what is in the Expression Builder or
the Zoom window and double clicking the criteria line does nothing. Are you
working in Access2003? I used to be able to that in Access2000.

Hi Gina, thanks for coming back. When I right-click on the criteria, you can
choose Build or Zoom. When you highlight the contents then right-click again,
nothing happens. I have quite large formulas in some of my queries and would
like to copy them to somewhere else.
As an aside, when you right-click in the query design and then click on SQL
view, I can there highlight, copy, cut and paste.
I am flummoxed because I could do it in Access2000

Okay, I'm not sure I'm getting it so here it goes

Right Click
Select Build
What contents are you right-clicking at this time? I can't right click in
the Expression Builder, I can do Ctrl+V and paste something I have already
copied.

If I highlight the contents and right click they just appear in the
Expression Builder, are you not highlight the contents and then right-click
is that what is not appearing in the Expression Builder?

Hi again Gina. You beauty, you put me on the track. Just discovered that
after selecting the formula the Ctrl+C, copies it and then elsewhere use your
Ctrl+V to paste it. Wow, that makes me very happy. BUT why couldn't Microsoft
organise the use of right-click mouseto do same.

Ok, Thanks Gina. Ctrl+V works for me. It pastes stuff that I have copied in a
word or text file and that is progress for me. Didn't know about Crtl+V.
Next; if I have a fairly complicated formula in another Expression box, how
do I copy that formula and paste it into another or even back into word? Of
course brute force like typing it all in character by character can be done.
(In Access2000 you could select the formula or text and just right-click and
copy then paste somewhere else.)

Wish I could help you with the "why Microsoft" does anything???? Glad
to be of help!

All you have to do is press Ctrl+C and it holds it in clipboard and you can
paste it anywhere with Crtl+V.

Thanks for being patient with me Gina. I have been working with Access for
some years and I was always a "mouseperson", hardly ever needed to use these
shortcut keystrokes. Now with upgrades MS seem to take away some good bits,
also like the Shortcut toolbar which was available in version 2000. Bye

If you're still watching, the Shortcut Toolbar is still there in Access
2003, perhaps yours was set to No (under form properties)...

Hi Gina, I was talking about the Office Shortcut Toolbar, see the message
below:

What happened to the Office Shortcut Bar?

The Office Shortcut Bar is not available in Microsoft Office 2003. However,
you can use the Windows XP Start menu or the Windows Quick Launch bar in
Windows XP or Windows 2000 to quickly open an Office program, file, or folder.

Add an Office program, file, or folder to the Windows Start menu

The following instructions are for the Windows XP Start menu style. If you
are using the Windows Classic Start menu style or Windows 2000, see Help in
Windows.

Add an Office program to the Windows Start menu

I have just told a CUT AND PASTE question person that you've put me on the
right track with this using shortcut keys
