Query an excel file

i would like to take an existing excel worksheet and
separate it into new worksheets base don the date for
each row of data. is there a way to do this?
shouldnt i just be able to query the data for a certain
date and paste that info in a new spreadsheet?

You might find that Data/Filter/Advanced filter will do what you want.
It has the option to copy data to another sheet.
