quattro pro does not work due to java conflicts?

I put this up last week but no one seems to have an answer
to it!!
I have an old copy of quattro pro 8 which is splendid for
all my needs but I have a lot of what you might
call 'legacy' macros (for some files that go back decades)
which only run on version 8 and not the later versions (it
is now up to version 12 and the word perfect/corel web
site does not want to know about versions earlier than
version 10).
I know i should rewrite these macros but there are a lot
of them and I only use some of them once a year or so, and
life is a bit short to spend learning macro languages,
especially when you are retired ...
the problem i have is simple; I loaded quattro pro 8 onto
my new Dell 4600 with Windows XP professsional.(quattro
pro 8 runs perfectly on Windows 2000)
But when I run Quattro pro 8, it comes up without some of
the menu items , does not run my macros, and has the (not
very helpful ) message "Could not Load DIALOG.MMC menu".

So I had what is for me a very bright idea and I
googled "Load DIALOG.MMC" and the most relevant answer
was:-

Installation of Visual Age for Java causes Corel Suite 8
applications (e.g. Quattro Pro) to fail to load essential
pull-down menu components.
Categories: Bug
Service: PC Applications
SW and Version Level: Visual Age for Java 2.0
Document ID: SKAS-484LPL
After installing VisualAge for Java 2.0, a user of Corel
Suite 8 receives a dialog box with the message "Cannot
Load DIALOG.MMC", and many pull-down menu options are
missing. When Visual Age for Java is uninstalled, the
problem disappears.
Visual Age for Java defines a default language setting.
The workaround is to remove this setting and then all
works well.
In Windows NT 4.0:
In Control Panel -> System, remove the default language
selection.
In Windows 98:
Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and remove the line
LANG=EN_US

This is exactly my problem, except that it refers to
versions earlier than Windows XP, and I have not been able
to 'translate' these workarounds to work with XP
professional.

Would anyone know how you could workaround my problem with
Windows Xp professional?

Your question could best be answered by visiting one of
