Any issues with upgrading to a quad core processor in WinXP?

TIA

No I have one running at 2.57MHz.

I am gradually clocking it up and monitoring temps. Not that this really
bothers me as the std speed is great anyway, I am just tinkering.

The only drawback is I bought it 3 weeks ago for £330 now they are
£180........still who cares I like it.

XP Home... Only uses one core. With Pro you're good.

I'm using XP Home SP2 and not having any problems with an Opteron 175.
Daughter using an Ath 64 4200X2 with Home - no problems.

Both show two cores in Task Manager and the cores show different levels
of activity.

Am I missing something?

XP Home only uses one CPU, but it will run as many cores as you have.
It's the 9x series (including ME) that only uses a single core (and
single CPU)
