Wisdom of a 771/775 LGA adapter

Hi,

I've been lusting after an Intel quad core upgrade for my Win7-64 PC. I have
not seen any downward price change for new or used parts. However, on eBay,
now I see marketers selling "better & cheaper" LGA 771 quads with an 771/775
adapter for the desktop market. Any ideas regarding potential problems? I
have no idea of height or board or if it will impact cooler/fan. Intel makes
the adapter. There seem to be tiny capacitors everywhere. See:

I haven't done it (yet?) myself, but a good number of people have had
success with it. Here's one long thread on oc/net detailing some of
their experiences:

I think my main concern would be how to cool a chip with twice the TDP
of the chip it is replacing, which I would assume would require a better
heatsink/fan.
