Hi! Thanks for reading. I have a small Q on the power
management system of windows xp. Imagine this scenario, I
have three hard drives in my system and I have video
rendering in the foreground using drive C, but the other
two is idling. Also, note that windows is on Drive C too.
So my question is this, if set the power settings to turn
off the hard drives after say 5 minutes, and after 10
minutes has passed, would drive D and E spin down?

XP should treat each drive independantly. So in theory "idle" drives would
spin down after X mins, not dependant on the other drives. However keep in
mind that it can be ANY process running that keeps them "alive". Eg,
Anti-virus, System Restore, Find Fast (Office), etc, so be aware first of
whats running on your PC.
