Q: Does anybody else use the Visual Basic Resource Kit?

Hi

Does anybody use the Visual Basic Resource Kit? I have a question about it
and I've either discovered a bug in it or have a problem with my
installation.

What problem are you experiencing? Error number/message/logfile?

Is this the same as your question the other day on how the web pages of the
kit don't start the code samples? Mine never did either.

But it's no sweat because all of the code is in "C:\Program Files\Visual
Basic .NET Resource Kit\Application\Content\Windows Applications\Code
Samples\" and all of the folders in that dir are named exactly the same as
displayed on the web pages. So I use the pages for looking for general
descriptions then just manually go to the code location.

When I consider all of the code and concept information that's there, that
you can read all of the content offline, and add in the several hundreds of
dollars worth of real, full ComponentOne controls, I figure this minor
inconvenience is fine :)

Hi Robert/Herfried

Ah ha! So, you, Robert, had the same problem i.e. links in the code sections
don't do anything. As you say, this is a minor inconvenience, but I'm glad
that you've been able to confirm that it is a known problem. Have you
encountered the same problem Herfried - or indeed know of a workround?

Many thanks

Geoff

I confirmed awhile ago that Windows XP SP2 broke this. I am sure it is some
simple security settings change in IE that would fix it, but I have know
idea what.

The main page for the kit
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/default.aspx ) has two links for
"Input" that I assume would be good places to ask, they probably would like
to know about issues since the kit is supposed to be making new adopters
trust things. Both of the links are to the same email address:
