Q Basic

I used QBasic in the Windows 98 days, and very good
it was too.
Now with Windows XP, It seems to be a non starter.
But ... I wonder.
Some DOS box facilities are said to be available,
and I wondered if 'they' could get QBasic up and
running again.
They are ...
A free DOSBOX utility, together with D-Fend.
These can be used to enable some DOS games
to be played.
Any chance with QBasic ..
or .. any suggestions.

Qbasic works fine with DosBox. Also Qbasic should work in XP unless
something corrupted your NTVDM files.

Thought at first I was going to reply 'Yippee'.
What I really want to know is, does DOSbox add back into
the provided XP DOS facilities, those programming elements
that have been removed by the steady progress of
Windows operating systems. 98 to Me to XP.?
I need a command EVAL that will take a $ statement
(but which is in fact a quadratic equation) and
allow a looped value of x to evaluate the quadratic and
progress to a solution.
(Yes, it is Newton-Raphson).
