.PWI -

I have created a standalone voice note in Notes on my Pocket PC. I see the
"speaker" icon which plays the note back fine via the Pocket PC. If I try to
synchronize via ActiveSync, the note which is in a file extension - .PWI does
not want to sync to my PC.

The .PWI file will open in MS Word and I see the graphic "speaker" icon, but
it is only a graphic and has no sound associated with it.

Is there a way to either move that sound into another application within the
Pocket PC (Window 5.0) or the PC so that I can have that audio file by itself
and convert it to another format if necessary?

Thanks!

I believe that voice notes created in a Windows Mobile Device can be played
back and synchronized with Microsoft Office Outlook. Do you have Microsoft
Office Outlook?

Hi Chester,

Yes I have Outlook Express and Office Outlook, but have not installed Office
Outlook or set up Outlook Express. What I experience is that I have the icon
on the PDA which will play the sound, but I can't copy it as an MP3 or WAV
file when I synchronize. The words of the note come over, but not the sound
file. I've tried opening it in Word 2007 and again the text displays fine,
but all I get is the icon as a graphic so I can edit it, but no sound.

So you think that if I had Outlook it would play in Outlook and then be able
to save it as a file of its own? That would mean I'd have to send the Note
with the embedded sound file as an email - is that correct?

Help me understand.

Roger
