With Outlook Express I used to be able to Purge Deleted Messages on exit but
I can't find this option in Outlook 2003.

Is it available?

Thanks

That's fine for emptying the deleted items but I'm referring to
purgeing deleted items on an IMAP server

Anyone else?

You have to purge them manually. There's no command for purging on exit.

How about a VBA script that is run through rules perhaps? FWIW, I'm
currently trying to figure out how to make a rule right now that moves
e-mail from a particular individual from my IMAP inbox folder to a custom
IMAP folder, which is easy enough via the current rules available, but then
I also want the rule to automatically purge the deleted message from my IMAP
inbox so I don't have to see it or it's title at all (usually movie spoilers
which I hate). I moved to Outlook 2003 from many years of using OE.
Specifically, so I could finally be able to apply rules to IMAP stuff which
OE can't do, but so far it been a pretty crappy experience over all. And I
don't need all the other bloat so I'm feeling more like I've given up
something rather than gained anything at the moment. Annoying...
