Purchasing Windows XP

I want to purchase a copy of windows XP Pro. I've been
searching through ebay and have come to the conclussion
that I need to find a version with the holigraphic licence
sticker.
one seller states that you need to download 6 floppy discs
for rebooting !!!!!!
does this make any sense to anyone???????

Not a bit. You can reboot from the CD.

Assuming you can upgrade, walk into staples
http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/Sku.asp?PageType=1&Sku=468387 and put
your money down (about $180, a bit more if you can't do the upgrade and need
the full install)

I would suggest not purchasing Windows XP from eBay.
You would be better off visiting a local, reputable store
that sells computer software and purchasing a "Retail Version"
of Windows XP.

All too many people post to this newsgroup after buying XP on eBay and
getting burned with a bad COA. Don't bother trying to save the few
bucks. Buy from a reputable discount store.

If you have Win98, just buy the upgrade version. You should have the actual
W98 disk.
