punkbuster and cod2

i play cod2 on line just alately im getting kicked for no handshake with
pnkbstrB ive reinstalled both punkbuster and cod2 but still get kicked the
same has anyone had the same problem if so what did you do

Hello, PunkBuster insists of having full rights to your machine, else you'll
get booted from a server. To get around this you'll need to run Call of
Duty 2 as an administrator, by right-clicking on the short cut and selecting
Run as administrator.

If you use the Games Explorer, you can right-click go to Customise and Edit
it, by going to Compatibility and selecting Run as administrator.

I suspect this is a Broken or not up-to-date Punkbuster. There were a bunch
of problems back in late July with this.

If you are one of the unlucky ones, then here is the fix. Just download the
small file and run it and it will either uninstall or just reinstall the
latest and corrected PB files and then runs a neat PB check utility to make
sure it is all going correctly


Do the following...

Download and run pbsvc.exe from HERE

http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe

Highlight Un-Install/Remove PunkBuster Service

Push Next

When finished, open pbsvc.exe again.

This time highlight Install/Re-Install PunkBuster Service

This will reinstall all the new files from the last update including a new
PnkBstrA.exe, PnkBstrB.exe and PnkBstrK.exe

Ummm. Check your firewall is not blocking it. Try turning firewall off
completely just for one connect and then Add what ever exe file is being
blocked to the Allowed outward connections

What version of COD2 are you running? 1.3 fixes a lot of Multiplayer
problems

ive got punkbuster a/b allowed in firewall turned firewall off turned
bullguard off still same get kicked for no handshake pnkbstrb ive got 1.3
version.i tried to run cod2 in compatibilty and run has administrator but
when i tried to turn punkbuster on in multiplayer options the program crashed
so i just run in compatibility mode this problem has only just started ive
been playing for 9 months

after much fiddling and tweekin i now get kick for punkbstr b no iniatisation
ive noticed punkbstrb is not running in services all the time anyone no how
to put it in services but most of all keep it there as ive run punkbuster
setup again this puts it in services but when im kicked its gone
