I have read many of the posts here, but have not managed to find an
answer for my problem. I am hoping that someone here might be able to
help.

For the last three years I have been using FP to publish my main
website and several subsites. Generally it has worked well, but
recently I have been unable to publish my pages at all. When I use the
FP publishing feature it will connect with the remote website,
determine which pages need to be uploaded and then it begins the
process. It begins publishing the first file and after just a few
seconds it stops making progress. I can leave it there all night and
it will eventually time out at that spot. This problem happens
regardless of which website or subsite on the remote server I am
trying to update. It will also often hang when I try to upload
individual files using the right click publish option.

I have reinstalled the FP server extensions and that has not helped. I
have also broken my main website into several smaller subsites and
that has not resolved the problem either. I have also shut down and
rebooted many times and this as well hasn't fixed the problem. Does
anyone have an suggestions for how I might go about identifying the
problem or fixing it???

Have you contacted your host for help?

What version of FP are you using. Did you recently upgrade? For full FP
feature support, the web server should be windows running IIS. What version
of Windows and what version of IIS.

I'm using FP 2003. I have been using this version since it first came
out and I haven't had a problem. The server that I am using is an
apache server and while they have FP server extensions, they don't
offer any support for Front Page related problems. I've not had any
problems until now and am not sure what to do. Can I switch to using
FTP or would this potentially cause problems.

Thanks

Do not use FTP if the extensions are installed, as you will corrupt them and they will have to be
re-installed by the host.

Now what is the specific issues you are having, provide as much detail as possible so that some may
be able to help you.

Check your local site for any files over 1 MB and also make sure there are no thumbs.db (caused by viewing thumbnails in Windows
Explorer)
