Publishing Ooops

I recently made some changes to my webpage. I published the first update successfully but when I tried to publish new updates I got a dialog box stating that the system detected changes in my rootweb and did I want to replace the changes to the animation. The dialog box stated that frontpage would merge the changes. I figured it couldn't hurt. When I did this and went to view the webpage, only the home page is showing without the navigation bar. I tried deleting all of my files on IE and refreshing but only the home page is showing. Can someone please help me, I really need to get this fixed. Thanks!

Whenever you get the message about changes to the navigation structure when
publishing, ALWAYS select the middle option, to replace the navigation on
the destination web.

To fix, do a complete re-publish of your site, overwriting all files, then
turn around and publish with Change Pages only.

Sonya,

Open a page that does have the shared border displaying correctly, switch to
HTML View, looking for the a line similar to the following:

<meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tl, default">

Copy and paste this line into your home page in HTML View in the same
location.

Hi Thomas, I went to a page that had the shared border and copied <meta name="Microsoft Border" content="none, default"> on the home page. I tried to publish again, got the same message that it published successfully but the navigation bar is still not showing up. Thanks for being so patient with me being such a newbie at this.

Good Morning Thomas, I went in and made changes to my borders so now I have this message <meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tl, default">. I published the site again and says that it was successful but I only see my homepage, no navigation tree. Could it be my extenstions, should I try uninstalling and then reinstalling to see if that works? When I published last night I did an overwrite and then published the changes only. Thanks again Thomas for your help.

Thomas one more thing. I tried going into the site live and editing through FrontPage when I added the microsoft border information (<meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tl, default">) to it, I received this error message "http://withoutwallsinreach.com/ does not refer to a page or folder in this web. It may be a page or folder in a subweb, or it could be a badly formed URL."

Is the home page required by your host index.htm as at
http://withoutwallsinreach.com/index.htm
If not find out what it's filename should be, and rename it to that required by your host
- also make sure it has the Home icon in it in the Navigation View

If it is, open your home page, index.htm, in html/code view and if you see the code below, delete it
<!--webbot bot="Navigation" S-Type="top" S-Orientation="horizontal" S-Rendering="text" B-Include-Home="FALSE" B-Include-Up="FALSE"
U-Page S-Target startspan -->

Then in Design / Normal view use Format Shared Borders and select the top & left (w/ navigation) for all pages

Remove all spaces from all file and folder names - illegal html - breaks links
And run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks, then select your home page and File Preview in Browser to see if it is corrected
