Publishing FrontPage 2003

G

Grady

I have a FP2003 web that I am ready to publish. I want to
publish it to my main computer where I have IIS running
(i other words, I am hosting my own webpage).

I am not 100% sure of how to do this. Under Remote Site
Properties, I have selected FrontPage or SharePoint
Services as my method to publish. My question is what do
I put in for the path: Http://xxxxxx?

Thanks

1) You not only need IIS running, but you need the FP SE Installed and applied to the root web
See http://microsoft.com/technet/treevi...technol/sharepnt/proddocs/admindoc/owsd02.asp
Test it in FP using File Open Site and entering http://localhost/ or http://yourpcname/
2) Then you publish to http://localhost/ or http://yourpcname/

PS you can only have 1 root web, so you may wish to publish it to a subweb using http://localhost/subwebname/ or
http://yourpcname/subwebname/

Thanks for Replaying....
I am running FronmtPage 2003 and Server Extensions 2002
are installed. I went to the article that you mentioned,
but it did not answer my main question: what path to
enter? Sorry, it may seem really basic-I just don't know
the answer!

Thanks

Grady

After the FP SE are set up your rootweb is accessed using http://localhost/
- File Open site (or File Publish Site) and enter that URL
- what other path do you want to know?
To manage the FP SE use Start All Programs Administrative Tools SharePoint Administration, or just enter in your browser
http://localhost/_sharepoint/fpadmdll.dll
