Publisher Compatibility

I have just brought home a publisher file from my college. Which I have
stored on USB flash drive when I try open it in my earlier version of
publisher at home it refuses to do, I was wondering if it is a
compatibility problem,

You have answered your own question. Older versions cannot open files from
later, you will need to "save as" the earlier version (unless the earlier
version is version 1 or 97). The exception to this is 2002, which can open
2003 files quite happily. In future, please post in the appropriate group.
You might be running Publisher under XP, but this doesn't make this group
the correct place to be posting. This group is for issues directly
associated with the Windows XP operating systems and not applications
installed thereunder - even if they *are* MS.

Please post all future questions regarding Publisher to the appropriate
group (microsoft.public.publisher).
