Public folders on PDA

T

-TC-

Does anyone know of a method / additional software to sync the contents of
a public folder to PDA's? The public folder in question contains company
wide Contacts. The users will also need to sync their own contacts, and
calendars. If necessary, the public folder on the PDA can be "read-only",
as edit/creation is not critical.

Unfortunately, there is a mix of Palm and iPaq's in this scenario.

Many thanks

Since this pertains more to the functionality of the PPC and Palm, not
Outlook, try posting in microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync for the PPC. I
am not familiar with Palm forums.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, -TC- asked:

I haven't used ActiveSync for a while, but I'm pretty sure the latest
version supports this - try m.p.pocketpc for more help. For Palm, Chapura
PocketMirror Pro 3.x can do this.

In both cases, I'd make it a one-way copy instead of a full sync- otherwise
you're gonna get lots of conflict messages in the PF if people modify the
same data and sync.

It is not possible to replicate public folders data directly to PDA, however there are some wayouts. One of them is to sync the shared data to users' mailboxes and then replicate them to mobile devices using Active Sync.

This articel might help you:
