Why do I need Public Folders. I am the only user of my computer. Can I delate
them safely?

Just leave it there. It doe do no harm at all.

Ye I know that, just wondering was there a technical reason for keeping them
if I'am the only person using computer. Not really worried about the space.
Just curious.
