Public folder auditing

I have user that is claiming that certain appointments are being deleted
from the public folder. I am really skeptical of that as I am not getting
any errors on the calendar. No one is complaining of any problems either.

Is there a way I can audit a public folder to show the user what the problem
is? I believe she is not saving the information properly.
 
What permissions are set on this public folder?
Are you scanning the M drive with file-level antivirus software or backing
it up with your backup software on the server? Those are known to cause
calendar problems (among others).
