PST Personal Storage File Error

A while ago I was organizing my pst's. we had to move them off our HD and
put them on the server. Somewhere along the way one of them got moved while
outlook was running. Ever since, that pst appears in the folder list even
though it no longer exists. I can't get rid of it!!!! Since the file dosn't
exist the scanpst.exe will not help.

I just want it gone... it is in the way and I accidentaly click on it I get
the annoying ding.


When you right click and "close" the pst it gives you an error "The
operation failed. An object could not be found."

when you click on it it gives you an error "The set of folders could not be
opened."

This error usually appears if the OST or PST file you are using is:
Unavailable
Protected with file permissions
On a share on a server and the network is down
Corrupt
To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the local computer.
You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe tools to verify
file integrity.

if you can't remove it from the profile, you'll need a new profile. see if

You can use Inbox Repair tool which is used to repair corrupted file
of pst. To run Inbox repair tool fallow the steps:

1. Click on start goes to the search then click on files or folders
option.
2. In search box type scanpst.exe.
3. Double click on the scanpst.exe file to open the inbox repair
tool.
4. Then enter the location of Pst file and its name or browse it for
the path.
5. Then start to repair.

This way you can repair your pst file. But if your file is badly
damaged you may not able to repair it. At that time you can use pst
repair software.You can try a popular Outlook recovery tool called
Advanced Outlook Repair to repair your PST file. It is a powerful tool
to recover messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or damaged
Microsoft Outlook PST files.
