PST files

I apologise if this is the wrong forum or more likely a very stupid
question.

When using exchange server 5.5 am I am right in thinking that all outlook
information (emails, contacts, calendar entries) is stored in a .pst file
on the local machine ?

Thanks for any help.

No, not by default. The default delivery location for an Exchange mailbox is
the Exchange database.

from the exchange database across a LAN, using VB for example ?

No, not by default. The default delivery location for an Exchange mailbox is
the Exchange database.
