Are there any problems with using the same .pst files being using Outlook
2002 on one computer, copying it and using the same file on my notebook at
times with Outlook 2000, copying the most recent file back and forth? What
would be the most problem free approach to doing this?

Using XP Pro SP2 on both computers.

No, the files are compatible. Only Outlook 2003 has a unicode format .pst
file that is not backward compatible.
