What is the .pst file? I'm using Outlook 2007 and trying to figure out how
to preserve my rules (we're migrating to a new server). I came across some
instructions having to do with copying the .pst file. Is this used in
Outlook 2007? Thanks.

Yes, it goes with Outlook. It is like a storage file for the content of
Outlook--the address book, emails, etc. You should make a copy. Someone with
more expertise might be able to give you clearer information. Good luck.

depends on your configeration, ie exchange or pop / imap mail, and what
exactly you mean by 'new server'

If I were doing this, I'd use the Rules Wizard to export the rules as an RWZ
fdile and then reimport them after the move if something happened.
