Ps2 to Usb Converter anyone in Australia help me ?

T

The Other Guy.

Just need one for my MX700 Mouse with the duo pack.

I wish to connect it via USB, the keyboard does, but the mouse only
has a ps2 connector, thus i need the adaptor.

I also want to try this USB bus sampling changer and change it to
200,250,500, well atleast try to, i know i did this with my old PS2
mouse windows 98 and it smoothed it out very much.

Thanks for any help.

Yeah ps2 to a Usb port thats what i want :)

For some reason my Mx700 Duo connects the keyboard via USB or atleast
has the option, but i use PS2, but for the mouse cord it just has PS2
connector ??? no idea why.

Just want to try a program that requires the mouse be usb, and thats
why i need the Ps2 to USB converter, would that be real USB ?

Thanks for helping this blind fool, i think i was just looking for a
plug like i got with the usb to ps2, isume the ps2 to usb is alot
tricker.

Thanks.

Yes.. it has a female connector for the mouse.. ie. you plug the mouse into one
end and the usb plug into the usb port of your PC..

yes.. USB is USB.. whether it's natively a usb connection or you use an adapter
of some kind..

You shouldn't need any adapter tho.. I didn't realise it was wireless till I
looked it up..

My microsoft kb/mouse (wireless) only has one USB plug.. the receiver has 1 usb
connection on the keyboard (with a dongle to make it ps/2) and 1 ps/2 connection
for the mouse.. You don't plug the mouse connection in at all if you're using
USB... you just plug in usb and that's it... I tested it just now with mine
and it works..

Just use it via PS2.
If you were really that interested in maximum responsiveness
then you'd not use a cordless mouse, the MX300/500/510 are
more responsive. Some will argue that they can't tell the
difference, that's GREAT for them... but others do and then
pursue tweaks like you're doing. No matter how fast you
could get the system to poll the wireless base, that won't
do a thing to increase the transmission rate between it and
the mouse. USB's default or PS2Rate for PS/2 @ 80-100 is
plenty for your mouse.

I can't put it any simpler than this.. Unplug both PS/2 ports.. plug in the
single USB connector.. wait and windows should pick it up as something like
Human Interface Devices..

You DO NOT need two usb connections.. plug in the keyboard via USB and leave the
mouse unplugged! (it sounds stupid, but it does work !)

You either run both via ps/2 or both via USB.. you cannot use it as a ps/2
keyboard with usb mouse of vice versa..

I'm not sure if you can use USB for the mouse and ps/2 for the keyboard.. I have
not tried.. I don't think this is neccessary tho.. mine still shows up as a
standalone USB mouse even tho it's keyboard and mouse together.. where can I
get this software you're using to change the mouse speed ? (so I can try it
myself)

Did you plug in the USB ? I have a microsoft wireless desktop and I just plug
in the USB connector on the receiver and leave the ps/2 mouse plug disconnected
and it works.. (it only has one usb plug coz it only uses the one for both)

Yours may be different, but judging by the fact it has a single usb plug like
mine, I should think the same applies..
