proxy error message

I too get a proxy error message when I try to send a
report to Microsoft from the tools; suspected spyware
report.

I read it said port 80 must be open but I not going
through finding port 80 to open it when the report should
go right to them, ya think.

If you have a software firewall, you may need to tell it to allow specific
executables access to the Internet. If you search Microsoft Antispyware's
help on the key "port" you'll find the information page.

However, this isn't true for the Windows firewall included in Windows XP
SP2, the help file notwithstanding.

So--for some folks seeing this issue, this is a bug, I believe, and I
haven't figured out a workaround.

Yes I have the same problem you would think Microsoft
would fix this problem so we can make reports to them and
not have to hunt down why our proxy setting have to be
checked.

Port 80 is the default port to the Web. It is used by the majority of
applications (MS or not) to send information to and fro using the Web.
