Try Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers. Also make sure your
email account has a POP3 server. If it doesn't, it won't help to make any
changes to settings in WinMail.

If you previously selected the IMAP protocol for that account, it can't be
changed to POP3. Delete that account, restart Windows Mail, then create
a new POP3 account.
