Protecting Word Documents

I have split a document into 2 sections. I have protected
the first section which is fine but I can't add text boxes
to the unprotected section. Is it possible?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can create the text box in another document and paste it into your
unprotected section. This will take some playing around because once it is
pasted you can't edit or move it without unprotecting your document.
