Protecting part of a word document form

Can you protect part of a word document or form? Similar
to locking a cell in Excel. I can find the feature to
lock the entire document. i have created a form template
and want to allow the user to update parts of the form and
make no changes to the headers

If this is a form that you have created with text fields and any other field
types you need, then when you lock the form, only the specific form fields
(the text fields etc.) will be modifiable by the user.

Does that make sense?

You can insert SECTION BREAKS, then choose to unprotect
certain sections.
