I am trying to create and email word and excel files containing legal
contracts so that the receiving party will be able to view and print the
files, but not make any changes to the text. I currently send hard copies of
these contracts by snail mail to avoid having the contract terms changed. I
use windows 2002 and excel 2000.
I tried by saving a word document via save as / tools / security options /
protect document (forms+password). This seemed to work but I was able to
beat it by opening a blank document, then inserting the protected document
into the blank. Upon doing so I could change the text freely.
Please let me know if there is any way to protect the file or if any
downloadable encription software would do the trick.
Thanks
