Protecting Check Boxes to prevent editing

I have designed a form in excel 2003 that includes several check boxes for
yes and no answers. I would like to return this form to the originator, but
do not want the the form to be changed once it is returned. I have tried
protecting the worksheet and check "Edit Object".

Is there anyway to lock the check boxes.

Thanks - Lindey

When you create the check boxes with control toolbox toolbar, by default they
are "locked" once you are out of the editing mode. Just open the control
toolbox toolbar (view/ toolbars / control toolbox) then click on the design
mode button (the one all the way on the left of this toolbar). Next, click
on one of the check boxes and choose properties. In the window that opens up
you should see that the "locked" option equals TRUE. Close the properties
window, and then click on the design mode button again (to turn it off and
make the form useable again). Finally, you should go to Tools and protect
worksheet and choose a password that the recipient of your form does not
know. this should keep them from being able to make any changes whatsoever.

Hope this helps.
