I just ran across an odd irritating glitch. Whenever I
right-click on a drive icon and hit properties, the drive
capacity pie-chart window no longer comes up... nothing
happens. I can only achieve this when I go into Computer
Management> Storage> Logical Drives and then right-click.
I have Windows 2000 Pro with SP3. This occurred after I
reinstalled CreateCD and had to remove some "ghost"
devices as per the instructions at Roxio's website.
Is this a serious problem?
How can it be fixed?

Those ghost devvices should still be there if all you did was do it in Device Manager. You removed them by looking at the non PNP devices right?

Yes, I used Device Manager after issuing "set
devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1" in Command Prompt in
order to remove extraneous devices showing up
under "Universal Serial Bus controllers," extra drivers
under "BACKPACK," & 2 external CD-R ghosts and one ghost
of my onboard CD-ROM drive under "DVD/CD-ROM drives." I
did not do anything within "non-PNP drivers" though. I
also just noticed that I can no longer bring up the
properties screen to change attributes on a file anymore
in addition to the inability to right-click on a drive
icon in My Computer to get the pie chart, UNLESS... I
select 2 or more objects and right-click, then Properties
screen comes up for the selection. It doesn't appear if
only a single item is selected. ODD

I am surprised that Roxio told you to do all that. Of course they are French you know. Kidding aside, you should have been able to go to Device Manager then View | Show hidden devices | NonPlug and Play drivers | and select those that look like they had to do with Roxio. You can ckeck by going into the registry to be sure.

But we are beyond that now. I suspect you have lost some non-Plug and Play Drivers. Like I said go to that area in Device Manager. See what is grayed out there. Let me know what you find out. You can just tell me the name you see in that window but if you think it might help you can find this name in the registry also. I think it's under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum
