Properties Only!

I have a strange problem that developed after running Ad-Aware.
When I click on any desktop icon, all I get is a properties screen.
Can anyone suggest a method of repair, other than a restore, or complete
reformat!

Dave,

The ALT key is probably stuck, so ALT & double-click opens the Property
sheet.

Many thanks for your reply.
I finally did a restore, which seems to have solved the problem, although I
will check out the keyboard to make sure it isn't the cause of this and/or
other problems.
