Properly installing Outlook 2003

Hi,

I have a 2 part problem.
First, I installed Outlook 2003. I have a msn.com email account. When I
opened Outlook, I chose as the server type HTTP.

First problem. As a result of this choice I have 2 sets of Inboxes, Deleted
Items, Sent Items, etc. One set is part of a "Personal Folders" directory,
the other part of a "MSN" directory. The MSN directory does show me my
emails, various folders, deleted items, etc. The Personal Folders directory
is completely empty. How can I merge these 2 directories? I don't need 2 of
everything.

Second problem. The way things are set up right now, I don't receive any new
email notifications for either set of folders. How can i get email
notifications?

Thank you,
Bill

You have two sets of folders due to using an http account, as you would if
you used a imap account.
I'm not sure as to whether the mail notification actually functions on these
type of accounts

As designed. You cannot merge them with the configuration you've described.

Http accounts cannot notify you. If you were to receive a message from an
account that actually feeds the default folders, you'd get a notice from
that account.
