promoting SMB server to PDC

Right now we have a small buisness server 2000 and a 2000
server standard edition. The Standard server is the PDC,
but we need the SBS to be the PDC. But when I try to
promote the SBS I get an error saying that small buisness
cannot support the action.(i.e. I am trying to bring up
the SBS as a DC along with the 2000 server, but I get the
error) Is there another way to move the AD to the Small
Buisness Server?

No that is not what this is designed to do. It can only be the first DC in a
domain thus getting the PDC emulator role but it cannot act as a secondary
DC like you are trying to do. You would have to install AD again on the SBS
server and then use ADMT to move the acocunts etc and have the client join
the NEW domain.
