Projector woes

I'm trying to project a powerpoint presentation with a laptop. When I start
the slideshow, the projector stops projecting windows, and it only shows up
on the laptop. What's happening?
 
Hold down your function key then the F7 key (may have a monitor icon on it).
Wait a sec to see if the image appears on your screen. Repeat until pres
appears both on screen and monitor.

Let me know how it works.
 
Just noting that F7 isn't the only key that I've seen used for this. On some
computers, it's been F3 or F5, so I always look for the key marked LCD/CRT
instead.
 
Go to Slide Show | SetUp Show and check where the show is to project under
Multiple Monitors.
