Project not viewable in shared workbook

Is there no way to view a project in the VBE editor when the workbook
is shared? I can see my code until I share the workbook (with or
without tracking changes). When I try to view the code, I get the
message that the project is not viewable. I set a password on the
project, thinking I might get a prompt to enter it to gain access, but
it was no different. My macro button to import data generates an error
when the workbook is shared and I can't step through the code to
troubleshoot when I can't view the project.

Nope. You even get a message that says that macros cannot be viewed or edited
in shared workbooks.

Maybe you can unshare the workbook and do your debugging.

Or maybe you can unshare the workbook, copy the code to another workbook (and
maybe modify the code), re-share the original workbook and run the copy of the
code from the other unshared workbook.

Thanks, but the error only occurs when the workbook is shared. I
solved my issue by removing the protection from the sheet that held
the data, but keeping it hidden. I realize it was probably due to
trying to remove then re-set sheet protection in a shared workbook
(which I believe is not allowed). While I might be able to code for
remvoving then re-setting workbook protection, taking it off means you
lose the track changes history. Anyone with 2 cents worth of Excel
knowledge can unhide the sheet and screw up the data, but I can't
avoid that it seems.
